Jim Furyk

Jim Furyk is proof that unorthodox can beat textbook. That famously contorted, looping swing should not work, yet he won the 2003 U.S. Open with it and added the 2010 FedEx Cup and PGA Tour Player of the Year. I respect golfers who reject conformity and instead perfect whatever mechanics actually fit their body, and Furyk did exactly that with relentless consistency. At 188 cm, folding himself into that singular motion, he turned an apparent liability into a signature. Every time I watch him, I'm reminded that golf rewards self-knowledge as much as orthodoxy. A wonderfully stubborn craftsman.
