My Take
Joan Lunden was, for nearly two decades, the face of American mornings, and that kind of sustained trust is rare and hard-won. What I admire most isn't the seventeen years on Good Morning America but everything after: the ten-plus books, the candid public battle with breast cancer, the relentless message of resilience. She turned a broadcasting career into a platform for encouraging others, especially women navigating midlife and health. Her WWE Warrior Award is a fun curveball, but the throughline is her gift for lifting people up. That enduring optimism is genuinely admirable, and it ages remarkably well.
