My Take

Jonathan Silverman is one of those endlessly likable performers who make timing look effortless. To many he is forever the kid hauling a dead boss around in Weekend at Bernie's, but I think that undersells him. The Neil Simon stage pedigree behind Brighton Beach Memoirs shows real range, and his lead turn in The Single Guy proved he could carry light comedy on charm alone. A Los Angeles native and Beverly Hills High graduate, he has the relaxed, lived-in ease of someone raised inside the business. I appreciate that he later moved into directing and producing too, broadening a genuinely warm career.
