Jordan Patrick Smith

I find Jordan Patrick Smith a genuinely intriguing watch. A Scottish-Australian who came up through the soap Neighbours, he could have stayed in comfortable territory, but instead he kept reaching for grittier, more demanding work in historical dramas like Vikings and the eerie Lovecraft Country. That progression from a high school in Dunfermline to global productions speaks to a real hunger. He has the rare mix of versatility and nerve that lets an actor slide between earnest soap roles and brooding period menace without losing conviction. I suspect his strongest, most defining performances are still ahead of him, and I will be watching.
