Juli Ashton

What sets Juli Ashton apart, to my mind, is the teaching background. A Colorado State University graduate who reportedly taught before entering adult film brings a different self-possession to the work, and it showed in how comfortably she handled hosting duties on television-style adult programming. The AVN Hall of Fame induction in 2012 and the 2000 NightMoves Award confirm she was a recognized name in her era, not a footnote. She's described now as a former performer, and that arc — articulate, credentialed, then choosing this path — makes her a more interesting figure than the genre's flatter reputation usually allows.
