Julia Klöckner

Julia Klöckner reads to me as a real career politician in the German tradition, someone who climbed steadily rather than burst onto the scene. Becoming President of the German Bundestag in 2025, after serving as Merkel's agriculture minister and sitting in the CDU leadership since 2012, signals deep institutional trust. What I find telling is her background in theology and political science from Mainz, plus her stint as a journalist and editor. That blend suggests someone comfortable with both ideas and communication. The 1995 German Wine Queen title is a delightfully regional footnote that grounds her firmly in Rhineland-Palatinate. She comes across as durable and well-rooted.
