My Take
His credit list tells you what kind of career this is: actor, voice actor, dubbing actor, fashion model, working since the nineties. That combination almost never belongs to a marquee lead. It belongs to the performer a production calls when a scene needs to feel real rather than exciting. I have a lot of respect for that job. Anyone can be watched when the camera loves them; it is harder to walk into a frame and make the audience believe the world existed before you entered it. The dubbing work is the detail I find most telling. Carrying a character with voice alone, matched to someone else's timing and face, is a discipline that exposes any actor who is coasting on presence. Murakami has been doing all of it, in film, television, and the booth, for three decades out of Osaka. There is no headline award attached to that, and it would be easy to scroll past him. I think the longevity is the point.
