Jusuf Nurkić

Jusuf Nurkić, the 212 cm 'Bosnian Beast' from Tuzla, is the kind of throwback center I love to watch. Drafted 16th by Chicago in 2014 and traded to Denver that same night, he learned early how unsentimental the league can be. What I respect is his physical, bruising, all-effort style under the basket, an increasingly rare commodity in today's perimeter-obsessed game. Beyond the stats, the arc itself moves me: a kid from a region scarred by war fighting his way to the very top of the NBA. He's an easy player to root for, and I find myself doing exactly that.
