My Take

Meho Kodro carries the weight of his era for me. A towering forward from Mostar who debuted for Velež and built a reputation as a goalscorer, he later turned to management and now serves as a board counselor back at that same hometown club. That full arc, player to coach to elder steward of his roots, is my idea of a complete footballing life. Athletes who came up through the former Yugoslavia in such turbulent years seem to carry a particular gravity and pride. Returning to give back to the club that made him strikes me as genuinely admirable, and I respect him for it.
