My Take

Kane Hodder is, to me, the rare actor who built an icon out of pure physicality. Four turns as Jason Voorhees, all without showing his face, and yet the menace registers every time. That comes from his stuntman roots and, famously, surviving a horrific burn accident early on. There is a hard-won authenticity in how he moves a body through fear. I also love the contrast: by all accounts a warm, approachable poker-playing Californian behind the mask. Horror fans rightly treat him as royalty, and I think the respect is earned by craft, not just franchise nostalgia.
