Karima Adebibe

What draws me to Karima Adebibe is the quiet discipline beneath the surface. Coming out of Bethnal Green in London's East End, then moving from modeling into film, she strikes me as someone who built a career on persistence rather than noise. She grew up in Tangier before returning to the UK and in 2006 was chosen as the seventh official model for Lara Croft in Tomb Raider. At 5 ft 8.5 in with a striking presence, she has the kind of understated gravity that rewards patient viewers. I'd keep an eye on her choices rather than her headlines.
