My Take

Karolína Kurková arrived with the kind of cosign few models ever get, with Anna Wintour calling her the next supermodel and Mario Testino raving about her proportions. The Czech kid from Děčín became a defining Victoria's Secret Angel and a Vogue regular, and what impresses me is that she did it during fashion's brutal supermodel transition era and stayed relevant well past it. At 180cm she has that rare combination of editorial edge and commercial warmth. I tend to be skeptical of hype like next supermodel, but she's one of the few who genuinely earned the label rather than just borrowing it for a season.
