Katherine Legge

What fascinates me about Katherine Legge is her sheer range. NASCAR, IndyCar, Formula E, IMSA, and an F1 test for Minardi: she has refused to be boxed into a single discipline in a sport that rarely makes room for women at all. Becoming the first woman to win a major open-wheel race in North America in 2005, then setting the fastest female Indy 500 qualifying mark in 2023, shows a career built on persistence rather than a single fluke. I admire drivers who keep rewriting records quietly, year after year, and she is exactly that kind of relentless professional.
