Kayo Matsuo

Kayo Matsuo was born in Tokyo in March 1943, in the middle of the war, and became an actress in the era when Japanese cinema was at its most productive. From the late 1970s to the early 1990s she appeared in so many two-hour television suspense dramas that she was called the Queen of Suspense, taking lead roles and never shying away from femme fatale parts, and she was also a regular in Daiei's television dramas. She stayed active until around 1998.
