Kevin Schmidt

What I admire about Kevin Schmidt is that he refused to be a former child star. After charming audiences as Henry in Cheaper by the Dozen and popping up in Alvin and the Chipmunks, he settled into years on The Young and the Restless, then quietly moved behind the camera as a film and television producer. That pivot interests me far more than any single role. Plenty of young actors burn out; Schmidt turned his early exposure into industry literacy and a creator's perspective. Coming from Andover, Kansas, he reads as grounded and durable, and I find that the most underrated kind of success.
