Killer Mike

Killer Mike is, to me, one of the most intellectually serious figures in hip-hop. The Morehouse education, the Outkast cosign on Stankonia, the Grammy pedigree, the activism: it all points to a man who treats the microphone as a civic instrument, not just a flex. What I admire most is his refusal to soften with success. Born in 1975 in Atlanta, he keeps speaking for his city and his community, turning anger into argument and rhythm into reasoning. Plenty of rappers chase relevance; Mike chases conviction. That's why I think his legacy will outlast the charts entirely.
