My Take

Kim Krizan is exactly my kind of artist, someone who wins through words rather than spectacle. As the writer who helped originate the characters and story of the Before trilogy, earning an Academy Award nomination for Before Sunset, she proved that two people simply talking and walking can move audiences more than any explosion. That is an extraordinarily hard thing to write well. Her range into comics and acting only deepens my respect. To me she is the quiet architect behind some of cinema's most intimate conversations, and that is a legacy worth celebrating.
