My Take

Television acting rarely gets the respect it deserves, and Kratika Sengar is my favorite kind of counterargument. Carrying a daily Hindi serial demands stamina that film actors seldom face, and she did it twice over, first embodying the warrior queen Rani Lakshmibai, then pulling off a dual role in Kasam Tere Pyaar Ki convincingly enough to win a shelf of awards. What I respect most is the range, moving from historical gravitas to contemporary melodrama without losing her center. Coming from Kanpur to the heart of Mumbai's television industry takes grit, and her trophy record from 2010 to 2012 suggests audiences and juries noticed the same thing I do.
