My Take
To me, Kieślowski is one of cinema's great moralists who never preached. What I admire most is how he moved from gritty Polish documentary into the metaphysical hush of Dekalog, The Double Life of Veronique, and the Three Colours trilogy without ever losing his curiosity about ordinary lives. He treated chance, fate, and quiet guilt as worthy subjects, trusting the audience to feel rather than be told. Losing him at 54 robbed us of more masterpieces, but the patience and humility in his gaze still feel rare. I return to his films whenever I want cinema that respects silence.
