My Take
KZ Tandingan is an artist I genuinely root for. Hailing from Digos in the Philippines, she broke out by winning the first season of The X Factor Philippines in 2012, and being dubbed Asia's Soul Supreme is no small praise. I have always been drawn to soulful female vocalists, and her voice carries the kind of emotional weight that transcends borders and language. The fact that she raps as well only adds to her versatility. To me she is one of the finest Filipino talents of her generation, and I think she deserves far wider recognition in Japan than she currently enjoys.
