Li Yifeng

Li Yifeng strikes me as a true grafter who climbed up from a talent show. A Chengdu native and Sichuan Normal University graduate, he emerged through My Hero in 2007 and then pivoted decisively from singing into acting. Hits like Swords of Legends, The Lost Tomb and Sparrow put him at the center of Chinese entertainment for years. What I admired was the willingness to switch lanes so boldly and reach the top, which takes real adaptability. That career was suspended in 2022, when he was detained by police for soliciting prostitutes, and that is a fall he has to own.
