My Take

Lio Tipton is someone whose arc I find quietly compelling. Coming out of being the last eliminated on America's Next Top Model Cycle 11, they could have stayed boxed in as a model, but instead built a real screen presence in Crazy, Stupid, Love, Warm Bodies, and Two Night Stand. What I appreciate is the range hinted at in that résumé, from romantic comedy to a zombie story with heart. The figure-skating background and Minneapolis roots add texture to the picture. Having reclaimed their name as Lio, they read to me as an artist still defining themselves on their own terms, and I respect that openness.
