Louise Bourgoin

Louise Bourgoin has a career arc I find refreshing. She started as a French television presenter and model before fully committing to acting, and that pivot paid off. There's a wit and a slightly mischievous edge to her screen presence that suggests she never took the celebrity machine too seriously. At 180 cm she carries a striking, commanding physicality on camera. The 2022 Officer of Arts and Letters honor tells me France itself takes her seriously as an artist, not just a personality. I appreciate performers who treat a glamorous launchpad as a beginning rather than a destination.
