Yoshinori Masakado

I'll admit the first thing my brain does with "Masakado" is reach for the vengeful spirit of old Japanese legend, but Yoshinori is doing something far gentler with the name. He's an Osaka kid through and through, and you can feel that Kansai wiring in him: polished and bright when he's up on stage, then disarmingly easy and a little goofy the second someone hands him a mic. I love that he's both an idol and an actor, and that he actually plays guitar, because it reads as a guy who quietly grinds rather than coasts on his face. He strikes me as the steady, build-it-one-piece-at-a-time type instead of a flashy attention chaser, and honestly that's the kind of slow burn I'm happy to root for from the cheap seats.
