My Take

What strikes me about Liel Abada is his nerve. Leaving Petah Tikva as a teenager to carve out a winger's career in Scotland, then crossing the Atlantic to MLS, is not the path of a player content to stay comfortable. At 168 cm he was never going to win battles with brute force, so everything had to come from timing, acceleration and a willingness to take defenders on. Carrying the weight of the Israel national team only sharpens my respect. I see a player still on his way up, and I'd bet his most decisive seasons are ahead rather than behind him.
