My Take
What I admire about Mac McClung is that he turned a viral dunk title into a genuine symbol of persistence. At 188 cm, he was never built to dominate the NBA on size, yet he scrapped his way through Georgetown, Texas Tech, and the G League on two-way deals. That refusal to disappear is the most compelling thing about him. He represents a particular kind of American sports dream: the small-town Virginia kid who simply will not stop proving himself. I find that arc far more interesting than any first-round pedigree, and I quietly root for him.
