Mammootty

Mammootty is a giant of Malayalam cinema, and the numbers alone are staggering: over 400 films across more than five decades, almost always in the lead. Earning the National Film Award for Best Actor and the Padma Bhushan, he is essentially a one-man pillar of an entire regional film culture, fluent enough to carry roles in Malayalam, Tamil, and Telugu. I have nothing but respect for actors who can shoulder the cinema of their own land, and I genuinely wish more people here knew his name.
