My Take
For me, Michael Rosenbaum is proof that a great villain can outshine the hero. His bald, brilliant Lex Luthor on Smallville gave that show its menace, and earning a spot on TV Guide's nastiest-villains list is the kind of compliment every actor playing a bad guy secretly wants. What I find likable is that he never seems precious about it; jumping into Guardians of the Galaxy and leaning hard into podcasting shows a guy comfortable laughing at the business he's in. There's a generosity in actors who become great interviewers of their own peers, and that second act suits him. I'd rather hear him talk shop than most.
