My Take

Mihkel Poll fascinates me precisely because he hails from Tallinn, a small Baltic capital that punches far above its weight culturally. Trained at the Tallinn Music High School and the Estonian Academy of Music under Ivari Ilja, he represents the kind of quiet, rigorous pianism I admire most.
