Mitch Grassi

Mitch Grassi possesses one of the most astonishing voices in contemporary pop, a high tenor so clear and elastic it almost functions as its own instrument. As a founding member of Pentatonix, he helped make a cappella feel modern and thrilling to a global audience, and his Superfruit duo with Scott Hoying shows a playful, fearless creative side. What I admire is the marriage of natural gift and obvious craft; that kind of control is earned, not just born. I gravitate toward artists who refuse to be conventional, and Grassi's expressive, boundary-pushing sensibility makes me confident his voice will keep captivating listeners.
