My Take
As an Osaka native myself I'm a little biased, but Mitsuki Takahata earns the admiration honestly. A Hosei graduate who moves fluently between television, the stage, voice acting and singing, she has a versatility many performers only pretend to have. Her Elan d'or newcomer prize and the Kikuta Kazuo theatre award matter to me because they show she is taken seriously in both film and live theatre, a much harder double than on-screen fame alone. That clear, ringing voice paired with grounded, sincere acting is a rare two-in-one. I hope she keeps aiming high rather than settling for being merely useful.
