My Take

Nacho Novo is the kind of forward I instinctively root for. He was never the tallest man on the pitch at 175 cm, but he played with his whole heart, throwing himself at goals for Rangers with a tenacity that fans never forget. There is something about the port-town spirit of Ferrol in how he competes, all passion over calculation. What I find most endearing is that, well into retirement, he is managing in the Scottish seventh tier at Darvel, far from any spotlight. Staying in the game purely out of love for it says more about a person than any trophy could. I admire that loyalty.
