Nana Mizuki

Nana Mizuki is, to me, a genuinely pivotal figure in how Japan came to take voice-actor musicianship seriously. Trained as an enka singer before she ever entered the booth, she brought real vocal discipline to a field that once treated singing as an afterthought. Winning both an acting-side honor like the Kei Tomiyama Award and a Seiyu Awards singing prize underlines that she excelled at both crafts rather than coasting on one. Reaching mainstream stages helped elevate the entire profession's musical standing. That a 153 cm performer projects such a soaring voice still amazes me, and I hold her in high regard.
