My Take
I have a soft spot for performers who write as well as they play, and Nancy Carell is exactly that. Her runs on Saturday Night Live, The Daily Show, and The Office show a comic who can land jokes, but co-creating Angie Tribeca reveals an architect of comedy, not just a player in it. I respect that she built a creative partnership with her husband while keeping a distinct authorial voice. In an industry that often sidelines women as writers, her move from screen to showrunner is the part of her career I find most quietly impressive.
