Natalia Vodianova

Natalia Vodianova's arc reads like a fairy tale I can't help admiring. A fruit-stall girl from Nizhny Novgorod who climbed to the very top of fashion, landing high on Forbes' top-earning models list, she has the rags-to-runway story everyone romanticizes. But what earns my real respect is what she did with that platform: shaped by raising a disabled sister, she poured herself into philanthropy and became a UN goodwill ambassador. Beauty opened the doors, but grit and generosity are what define her. I find her far more compelling as a humanitarian than as a supermodel, and that's rare.
