My Take
Nathan Fillion is my favorite kind of star: the one who seems genuinely glad to be there. Firefly made him a cult legend, and a lesser actor would have spent decades chasing that high; instead he built two long-running network hits in Castle and The Rookie on pure charm and comic timing. I think his Edmonton roots show — there is a working-actor humility in how he commits to weekly television rather than waiting for prestige projects. He also produces, protecting the sets he works on. No shelf of trophies, but few performers are more reliably welcome in people's living rooms, and that is its own achievement.
