Nina Wadia

What strikes me about Nina Wadia is her rare ability to move between broad comedy and grounded drama without losing credibility in either. Born in Mumbai and schooled in Hong Kong, she became a fixture of British television, from EastEnders to Citizen Khan, and her sketch work on Goodness Gracious Me turned the immigrant experience into sharp, affectionate humor. I have a soft spot for actors who anchor an ensemble rather than chase the spotlight, and she does exactly that. Performers with her range and reliability are quietly indispensable, and I think she is consistently underrated.
