Nobuko Miyamoto

Miyamoto was born in Otaru, raised in Nagoya, and married to the director Juzo Itami from 1969 until his death in 1997. She was the face of his films, winning Best Actress at the Japan Academy Prize for A Taxing Woman, one of eight nominations. What moves me is what came after 1997: no director-husband, still working past eighty.
