My Take
Noël Wells is a performer whose refusal to be one thing is exactly what I admire. From San Antonio, Texas, she writes, sings, directs, and acts, and her range is striking. Many know her as Rachel in Master of None, but I am especially fond of her voice work, as Kelsey in Craig of the Creek and Ensign Tendi in Star Trek: Lower Decks, roles that quietly set the emotional temperature of whole shows. Voice acting rarely gets its due, yet it demands enormous control. To me, Wells exemplifies the modern multi-hyphenate who builds a career on personality and craft rather than a single lane, and I find that path quietly inspiring.
