Oliver Jackson-Cohen

Oliver Jackson-Cohen is an actor I associate almost entirely with dread, and I mean that as a compliment. His work in The Haunting of Hill House and The Haunting of Bly Manor showed me he can carry emotional weight inside horror, where lesser performers just react to jump scares. Playing the menacing Adrian Griffin in The Invisible Man let him flip into genuine villainy, and the 2023 miniseries Wilderness pushed him further. Born in Westminster in 1986 and standing 191 cm, he has a striking, slightly unsettling screen quality. I keep hoping he gets a role outside the genre that lets him show a lighter register.
