My Take
Pat McAfee is one of those rare guys who somehow turned a nine-year NFL punting career into an even bigger second act, and I find that genuinely impressive. He was one of the best punters in the league during his Indianapolis Colts days — the kind of punter people actually watched — but what he's built since retiring in 2017 is something else entirely. The Pat McAfee Show grew from a scrappy YouTube and Barstool sports podcast into a full ESPN deal, and the energy he brings is just infectious. He's loud, he's funny, he's unfiltered in a way that feels real rather than manufactured. His WWE run was a wild detour that somehow worked, and landing on College GameDay cemented him as a genuine media force. Love him or find him exhausting, you can't deny the hustle is real.
