My Take
Patricia McPherson will always belong to my memory of 1980s television as Bonnie Barstow on Knight Rider, the smart engineer who kept KITT running. I liked that she played intelligence rather than mere glamour, a rarity for a former fashion model in that era. But what genuinely earns my admiration is her later turn toward environmental activism. Walking away from the easy comfort of celebrity to advocate for something larger speaks to real conviction. Plenty of actors coast on nostalgia; she chose purpose instead. That second act, lived on her own terms, makes her far more interesting to me than the role ever did.
