My Take
Patrick J. Adams is one of those actors who quietly carried a whole show on his back for years without getting nearly enough credit for it. As Mike Ross in Suits, he had to sell this wildly implausible premise — a brilliant college dropout faking his way through a major law firm — and he made it not just believable but genuinely compelling, season after season from 2011 to 2019. The chemistry he built with Gabriel Macht was the real backbone of that show, and his knack for playing smart without coming off as smug is a harder trick than it looks. USC-trained, Toronto-born, equally at home on stage as on screen — this guy has real range, and I think his best work might honestly still be ahead of him.
