My Take
I admire the sheer nerve of Qala Nôir, the Bangkok-born performer better known as Nene. Leaving Thailand to compete in China's brutal idol scene, finishing fifth on Produce Camp 2020 and debuting with BonBon Girls 303, takes real courage. Singing and dancing on a massive stage in a foreign language and culture is no small feat, and the fact that she chose this path after studying at an engineering university says something about her range and drive. I imagine a fierce competitiveness packed into that small frame, and I find myself wanting to cheer her on as she keeps carving out a path abroad.
