Queen Naija

What draws me to Queen Naija is the shape of her rise. From Ypsilanti, Michigan, she built an audience as a YouTube vlogger, passed through American Idol, then broke onto the Billboard Hot 100 with Medicine before signing to Capitol. No agency discovered her; she broadcast her own life and turned that into a career. I love that she treats her social-media origins as a weapon rather than something to outgrow. Her R&B voice carries both polish and an unguarded honesty, and as a singer who is also a mother, she feels real. I instinctively root for stars who never stopped being themselves.
