My Take
What strikes me about Ray William Johnson is the rare combination of an Ivy League mind and an instinct for internet absurdity. Coming out of Oklahoma City and Columbia, he could have chased respectability, but instead he read the cultural moment perfectly and built one of YouTube's earliest empires. I respect that he never coasted on that early success. Pivoting into comedy, music, acting, and directing shows a restless creative appetite that most viral stars lack. He understood, before almost anyone, that internet fame was a launchpad rather than a destination, and that foresight still impresses me today.
