My Take
Rick Strassman commands my admiration as a scientist willing to study what most of his peers avoided. A clinical psychiatrist trained at Pomona College and a longtime professor at the University of New Mexico, he brought rigorous methodology to research on DMT, a subject loaded with stigma. I respect that he aimed his intellect at genuine inquiry rather than safety or trend-chasing. Questions about consciousness sit at the edge of what medicine can measure, and approaching them with both curiosity and discipline takes courage. I value these quiet, principled trailblazers.
