Rila Fukushima

I admire how Rila Fukushima carved out space on global sets without softening her edges. Yukio in The Wolverine, Tatsu in Arrow, the geisha in Ghost in the Shell, these aren't filler roles, they're scene-defining presences. What interests me is that she's often filed under exotic casting, yet what actually lands on screen is sharpness, intelligence, and a striking physical poise. To me she reads less as a Japanese model who acts and more as a performer who can hold a frame against anyone. I think her ceiling is higher than her filmography so far suggests, and I'm curious where she goes next.
