Rina Kawaei

Idol-to-actor moves usually stall somewhere polite. Hers did not. After leaving AKB48 she rebuilt herself as an actress, starred in the NHK morning drama Come Come Everybody, and earned a Blue Ribbon supporting actress nomination in 2019. What strikes me is how little she leans on the old identity.
