My Take

Cortés fascinates me as a filmmaker who treats constraint as creative fuel. Burying Ryan Reynolds in a single coffin for ninety minutes and still keeping audiences breathless is the kind of audacity I respect far more than big budgets. Coming from rural Ourense and wearing every hat at once, director, writer, editor, producer, even podcaster, he strikes me as a born storyteller who can't sit still. The 2022 Premio Feroz for Best Director felt earned. I admire makers who win the room through ideas and tension rather than spectacle, and Cortés is exactly that breed of inventive, restless craftsman.
